Building Sub-ohm coils safety

Sub-ohm vaping is becoming increasingly popular among vape pen mod users. This method uses incredibly low Ohms to make massive clouds of vapor. Of course, there are safety issues with doing this. If you are going to get into building sub-ohm coils, you need to understand the issues at play.

Battery capacity versus safe usage

Your battery comes with the information about the highest usage you can safely get out of it. A lot of users seem to think that as long as they stay anywhere below that level, they are safe. This makes sense, right? It’s not quite the way it works, though. Your car has a maximum speed on the speedometer that indicates the fastest the car can go, but if you constantly drive it at or right under the maximum speed it’s going to start having problems really fast. The same thing is true with batteries, only lithium ion batteries have the possibility of exploding if they are over-stressed. We recommend that if you are building sub-ohms, you still stay well within the safety limits of the battery, and not consistently use the battery right at the limits.

Flavor versus volume

One of the most common criticisms of sub-ohm coils is that they sacrifice flavor for vapor volume. It is really satisfying to have huge clouds of vapor, but a lot of users complain that the flavor is flat and unsatisfying. This is another thing you are going you are going to have to consider if you decide to try sub-ohm coils.
